>>a hazmat team in aurora is having a tough time getting into the home of a suspected hoarder apparently the garbage is piled too high. the home is suspected of housing animals and dead birds. wgn's judy wang is live in aurora with details. judy >> the animal control officers went inside the home. maybe about 15-20 minutes ago. we have not seen them bring any animals to the fan. this is the 200 block of shady brook lane. firefighters could not get in. we do not have a clear picture of the situation. it appears there are about 200 birds inside the house. mostly parents and

>>an army appeals court has ruled that the fort hood shooting suspect can have his beard forcibly shaved off before his murder trial. major nidal hasan is accused of killing 13 people and wounding more than two dozen others in a shooting spree at the texas army post in 2009. after his arrest hassan grew a beard. saying his muslim faith requires it. but a judge ruled that hasan does not have a religious right to have a beard during his court-martial. the trial will be delayed while hasan's lawyers appeal the ruling to a higher court.

the 14-year old girl shot in the head by the taliban for promoting female education is reportedly making a good recovery. doctors say 15-year-old is able to stand. she can't speak because of a tube inserted in her throat. but she can understand when people talk to her, and write in coherent sentences. malala was airlifted to england for specialized treatment on monday after the taliban shot her, on her way home from school in pakistan. doctors say she's not out of the woods yet.

she's still fighting an infection caused by the bullet that entered her brain. a young man whose allegations of sexual abuse triggered the investigation into former penn state assistant football coach jerry sandusky is talking publically about his ordeal. 18-year-old aaron fisher recorded an interview with a national morning news show and also spoke to people magazine. fisher sas he was 11 when he met sandusky and was abused during weekend visits at the sandusky home. sandusky was a volunteer coach at fisher's high school. fisher says he told the school principal and others about the abuse, but nothing was done. the interview aired a day after sandusky's lawyers launched an effort to overturn his convictions. the lawyers for george zimmerman are in court seeking
